55,000 fans joined the action as 28 bands performed over the weekend, including headliners Def Leppard, Rob Zombie, Nickelback and Shinedown.

As the gates opened on Saturday, festival-goers wasted no time wanting to enter the festival as lines on the boardwalk backed up over 10 blocks. Once inside, it was time to check out some of the early acts, such as Kat Von D, Trapt and Puddle of Mudd.

The sun-soaked day that felt like it was mid-summer, brought more that just music. Attendees were greeted with the convenience of many shopping and dining options along the boardwalk and the thrills of the Jolly Roger amusement park.

One of my favorite moments of the day was Gavin Rossdale running through the crowd during Bush’s epic performance that heavily consisted of tracks from their breakout album Sixteen Stone.

Rob Zombie addressed the crowd with his thoughts on performing White Zombie tracks. The fans went crazy when they the heard the legendary riff to “More Human Than Human.” That wasn’t the only wild highlight of the set. Rob Zombie had plenty of hellish props on stage including a very tall alien.

Later performances from the Saturday slate including Halestorm and Def Leppard to end the night. Overall, if you’re looking for classic hard rock bands on a beach, this is the event to attend. Boardwalk Rock did not letdown and will return in 2026.
